Anthony Browne founded Westbury Collections in 2019 with a simple belief: debt recovery works best when relationships come first. After more than 20 years within the debt recovery industry, he saw an opportunity to build an agency that was more personable, more transparent and more commercially focused on helping clients improve cashflow and profitability.

Anthony started the company from his spare bedroom with just a laptop, a £9.99 telephone, which still sits proudly in his office today with no outside investment and no budget. Since then, Westbury Collections has grown into a nationwide debt recovery agency supporting businesses and organisations across the UK.

Starting the business with no outside investment created a culture built around hard work, careful growth and financial discipline — values that remain central to the company today and have helped the business grow without the burden of any debt.

Following the company’s initial success, Westbury Collections took the leap in February 2020 to move into serviced offices at Global House in Epsom and welcome its very first employee, Lisa Anderson, to the business. Just one month later, the country entered the uncertainty of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Despite the challenges faced by businesses across the UK during that period, the company continued to push forward through hard work, resilience and a determination to keep supporting its clients — values which remain central to the ethos of Westbury Collections today.

In the years that followed, the business continued to expand with the additions of Steve Deegan, Emily Payen, Matthew Stevens and Leanne Merrett each bringing valuable experience, knowledge and energy to the continued growth and success of Westbury Collections.

Today, our 16-person team has assisted more than 4,000 clients and helped recover in excess of £110 million in outstanding debts across the private school, trade and construction sectors. Despite our growth, we have remained committed to the same approachable, honest and personal service that the business was originally built upon.
